Drake has a somewhat shady reputation with Police Lieutenant Eckhardt who believes that Drake is involved in the crime. Drake follows his hunch and pays Charlie Cooper a visit, where he finds the necklace. Upon its return, its declared a fake, and it sets off a cross-country chase, Drake and his assistant following Charlie and his girlfriend Lily, while Eckhardt and Ridgeway's secretary, Dale Harrison, follow Drake.
